  • Throttle Response

Working out the bugs on a 30ft center console boat that sat for a few years. When I throttle up on the twin 2002 DT200s the response is slow and you have to ease the throttle up slowly to get up on plane. Top speed is around 34 knots. At about 3/4 throttle the engines begin to bog down. If you continue to throttle up she slows dramatically. Any ideas where to start?

sounds like its fuel restriction related, check the tank vents and filters

I replaced filters by fuel bulbs are their other filters and where are the tank vents located.

tank vents let air in as gas exits so they could be hidden to the back somewherre but it will be on the top of the tank. it could have a ventr hose running to the side of the hull somewhere so look for a chromed or stainless button near the transom or rear corners, if you have one its not uncommon to have a mud dobber to make a nest in it blocking it up.

most fuel injected motors have a low and a high pressure fuel filter under the cover so if it sat for a while those should be replaced. also check the screen in the fuel pump is clear. (but it doesnt look like you have a high presure filter)
