Just purchsed a short shaft 3 cylinder electric start 30hp tiller model. When the previous owner started the engine for me it initially idled high then slowed to a nice smooth idle. That was Friday. Put the boat in the water today and started it and it is idling around 12-1500 or so and will not idle down. I do know that the engine appears to be running cool, not warming at an idle as it probably should. I know on late model OMC product the engine starts in "Quickstart" then the elevated idle drops to normal after it hits 100 degrees. Is there something I am missing or doing wrong?
