  • New DF175 overheating

I've recently installed my new 3/2010 DF175 on my project boat upon initial startup (on mouse ears) I encountered no discharge@pee hole @ idle increasing throttle to about 1000 Revs observed discharge after a few moments engine alarmed for temp I ran water thru topfront flush port to cool engine. I then crafted a tank to submerege foot and water intakes.several hours after intial start up i restarted and again observed no discharge by slightly incresing throttle got discharge ensuring tank level with a free flowing hose ilet run and agaain engine alarmed for temp.I reinstalled hose to front flush port and with tank restarted and let run no alarms. I think I have a defective( impeller or pump) has any one encountered this at initial start up

no but it can happen it is part of the predelivery of a new motor to check water flow... a motor that size you should not use muffs as you probably will not get enough water flow from a garden tap
