1996 DT 100 - Buzzer question

I'm replacing a tired merc with a 1996 DT 100. After installation I turned the key on (Did not start the motor)and got the long buzzer warning for no oil, turned off and filled tank but now whenever the key is turned on I get no warning horn. I removed the horn and tested it to a 12 volt source directly, checked ok, any help on what to check next, my aftermarket manual is a little weak on troubleshooting this.

why should you now get a warning ?

I'm new to Suzuki and thought there was some sort of self test or something when you turned the key on.

nope but it should beep

you also need to rest the oil light on the side of the motor
