Is this normal?

Hi, is this normal? Water coming out from the gear lever? If not, what could be the remedy.
i have the DF 2.5hp suzuki just bought it two months ago.
is the problem serious?

New engine?
not familiar with your HP engine
however if it is a new one it should be under warranty
maybe someone else can chime in but this would be a good question for the dealer

The bushing is worn out. You have to separate the engine from the bottom. There you can remove the lever and replace the bushings.Not a difficult job. Will take about one hour to complete.
