Have a DF 140 outboard. Just had a Minn Kota 36v with 3 batteries and a DC to DC charger that runs from one of my starting batteries fitted. First trip out we noticed a burning smell from under the cowling. Is it possible that the alternator/charging system is working too hard to charge 5 batteries.
