    DF2.5 piston kickback

I had the same problem with my 2.5hp. It felt like fluid lock preventing piston movement. I tried storing the engine with the cylinder head higher than the carburator (ie. sort of like the kicked up position when installed on the transom) and that solved the problem. Talked to a guy here locally with a 9hp Suz and he had the same problem until storing engine in this position which solved the problem. Don't know if Suzuki Corp. is aware of the problem or not, but this trick does it. Note: no worries about water drainage into powerhead if lower leg is kept lower than upper unit. Hope this helps.

      Df2,5

Thanks for the info but my Suzuki kicks even after starting and running
It spins over freely if the ignition is off

the timing is to fast causing it to kick back
      There is no timing adjustment

This may be a factory defect
I have had the motor for 2 years

Is there away to contact Suzuki directly
