  • Backlight on tachometer

Hi, does anyone know how to replace the light in the tachometer? The attached picture shows the reduced light in the tachometer, it is the one bottom left if you couldn't guess!

Also can the lights be turned on and off via switch or are they always on?

After you access the rear of the tach, it should be a little black twist out bulb socket near the top.

Sounds like your instrument lights are connected to an ignition on power source. You can add a switch to turn them off and on with the ignition on, connect them to your NAV lights, or make a separate circuit independent of the ignition position.

.....and if you do a lot of night boating I suggest using red bulbs, better on the eyes - now I have no idea where you get red bulbs but I used my wife's red nail polish - worked great on my pontoon boat which is usually used for sunset cruises - (um, the wife does not know.)
