The DF 9.9 BES claims to be a batteryless motor capable of running its EFI system without being attached to a battery. A dealer also claimed that after an initial start with the pull cord or with a battery the motor will retain a charge and can subsequently be started with a push of the electric start button despite not being connected to an external battery. Is this correct info or does one still need to either pull start it or be connected to an external battery to start with the start button??
