  • Suzuki df 15 problem

    HI all

I have an issue with my suzuki df15 2011 model and was hoping someone could help

I had a blocked idle jet, the engine wouldn't run on idle at all. So I stripped and cleaned the carb and put it back together. Now it idles fine but it's a bit rough at low reves and I'm getting a 'popping' (backfire?) sound quite often as well.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks

I saw your note on the 2015 thread
Unfortunately if they don't post back how the problem was solved it makes it difficult for all of us to really know
    Not familiar with your model
If your engine has a IAC valve it could be dirty
Do you have the shop service manual?

I had the same problem with my 2009 df15. It turned out that there is an idle jet underneath the jet that has the rubber plug covering it. I didn't know there were piggyback jets. the bottom one is the idler jet. I sent the carb to my nephew in Hawaii and he figured it out. be sure to use the proper screw drivers to take out the jets, as the brass is soft and a too small screwdriver may screw up the slot and then you are in big doodoo.
