  • DF140 - bullet connector sizing on ignition harness?

For background, I've had my boat/motor (both are '03 models) for just over 5 years now. Just last year, I had my battery relocated from the bilge to the center console of my boat. In the process, the guy that did the work must have "tidied up" in the console by securing any loose cabling he could find. Unfortunately, he tightened up my ignition harness so tight that in a bit of chop, every time the console moves it pulls on the wiring just enough to lose connection on one of the ignition harness bullet connectors and kill the engine. I have to stick my head under the console to push the connector back in before I can restart.

I need to get in there and pull some slack free by undoing whatever it is that he did, but in the meantime I was going to make a jumper/loop extension to plug in. Which brings me to my question, does anyone know the proper connector size for that wire? I just came back from West Marine and the closest I could find was this set, which I am almost positive is not correct:

ANCOR MARINE Nylon Snap Plugs | West Marine

Instead, I found these online that look the part, I just don't know whether I'd need the 4mm or 3.5mm:
    Bullet Connectors

Who knows, maybe the ones I bought will still work, but the boat is 45 minutes from home so the next time I can compare will be the next time we plan to use it. So if I can have the right part on hand before I go, obviously that would be preferred.

Long story short, anyone think those 14-16 gauge Ancor "snap" connectors will work with Suzuki bullet style, and if not do you guys know the proper size for the Suzuki bullet connectors?

Heck, I feel like even these Autozone connectors are a better match than what I found at West...

Best idea might be to take a bunch of both M & F connectors with you, that way if you haven't got the correct size you can replace both ends.
