  • 88' DT8c novice fuel questions

Just bought this 2 stroke and the 3way fuel split was broken and all the connections that lay between the end of my fuel hosing and before the 3 way split were all sorts of messed up and its going to be around 40 bucks in new connections.

I was wondering do I need to use the oil tank at all? And just run it with mixed gas? Its oil injected

I have looked at parts listed for your motor, and don't see an oil sensor (except the tank level sensor), but not real familiar with your motor. You do have a gear driven oil pump, this needs oil, or it may cause problems later? If you have problems with the oil system, yes run oil mixed fuel, until you can resolve any issues, and run the pre-mix until you're certain the oil system is working properly. If you remove the oil system (I'm not sure if you can remove the oil gear and seal it off?), i am not sure if the control module will operate normally without it?

I would repair the oil system, and run pre-mix fuel until oil system is working (too much smoke, and you can cut back on pre-mix as oil is being used from tank again.

    Good luck.
