  • suzuki dt40 bogging issue please help?

    hi guys...

    i have a dt 40 the 1 with pull start & trim & tilt...man am i having issues..well one to be exact!

pleaase can anyone help me figure this out?

issue- on lank she idles, revs into limiter no problem..but when im on the water i go into gear.. thrust till about quarter and she is fine...more than that it sounds like it cant go more.. sounds like its smothering, it does not cut out tho doesn't miss or backfire either?

anyone maybe know the height the float must be? as i don't have the manual for this motor.

iv tried bypassing the mech fuel pump and putting on a 12v petrol pump.. same deal.

iv replaced the crank seals and other seal around main shaft.

    PLEASE HEEEELP>

Rolin we could help a little more of you can give us, the age of the motor, and a little history of the motor. For example, has motor been sitting up for an extended period of time? Was anything recently changed when this started happening?

How often do you rev the motor to its limit when I neutral?

Post back, when able to let us know how it's going.

Ok, Rolin, i responded to you on some other thread, my error.

I suggested you to try another (known good) TPS for your motor.

Post back when able to let us know how it's going.

TPS stands for Throttle Position Sensor

Again, I've mixed up your motor with another thread. My mistake. Your motor has the linkage controlled spark advance, no TPS.

Have you checked fuel filters, and fuel pump?

                  dt 40

soooooo... i asked a mech what todo.. he said advance the timing as the motor wat not getting to the limiter anymore..so i advanced it.. he said it should be right now..

Question is... could timing have been the issue as i have not tested it out yet..

                  reply if anyone can.

                  thanks in "advance" lol

                    Timing makes a big difference.

Post back when able to let us know how it worked.

                        Hi

So i took the boat out... using 12v low presure petrol pump... it was still the same... i then turned the timing stopper on the side. Turned it in... it then ran right for a few sec then back to wat it was...

Please any help or wat i can do...

Crank seals have been done. (Plugs are dry from water)

Spart plugs how ever a a bit wet asuming fuel...

                        Sny help please!!!
