  • Need Help With DF300ap Install

Just hung new df300ap. I was told they were super easy to wire up and I've done other outboards so I'm going to give it shot. So, is there any sort of wiring diagram out there? I have fly by wire controls. Does anyone know where the heck the nmea interface cable connection is on the outboard? Thanks!

I just finished rigging mine. A couple of questions for you.....
Did the dealer hook his computer to the engine and do the initial calibrations ( not sure this is the proper terminology). My understanding is this dealer step is required or the engine won't run/operate. You should ask him for the rigging manual in pdf format also.

My engine came with everything connected to the harness. I was very careful to label connector ends during my installation. The rigging manual is less than clear.

Lay out the main harness, throttle, key switch, troll module, run and stop, etc.. Those connectors are unique and you should be able to match each to the harness. There are some connectors that are there for diagnostics or as an option for second helm and not used.

Do a search on yhis site for a wire diagram.

Nothing has been done at all to the engine. It showed up in a crate with the owners manual and fly by wire controls. There was no rigging manual or anything like that. It was my understanding there was no dealer "calibration" that needed to be done. It was a plug and play.

Sounds like i just need to lay everything out see what matches up and what's left over. It appears to me that only one large connector is pulled from the engine to the helm. That sound right?

So it sounds like I might need a trip to the dealer to do the initial calibrations after it's hooked up.

Yes, one main harness with large square ends runs from the transom to the helm.

I attached the calibration warning for your information.

I also am installing a new to me df300 on my center console. Am tired of two stroke performance. I ran the engine on the laptop and it ran fine. However it seems like I'm short a,few, pieces of the install cabling. I purchased the single engine, single station kit and a harness, the one with the brown square connectors. The kit came with the battery to harness connector with the inline fuse. I'm not seeing the trim connection or the nmea connection for the gauges. The engine is a 2008 model fairly low time. Any suggestions or guidance would be most appreciated. Ordered the maintenance manual for the wiring diagram should be here next week. Also have the Suzuki laptop interface and software.

We are installing a df300ap and the Rigger basically threw wire harness in boat and tie wrapped it up..
now I am chasing down what goes where and got to the point that trim works and digital gauge comes on but no crank
If someone could send a good wire diagram with enough detail I can zoom in and read would be very helpful.
at least I could go over harness and make sure it's done correctly

            Regards
