  • Tach on new Suzuki DF9.9B

    Hello,

    I'm in the process of installing a new 9.9 kicker on my boat. I got all remote control options. I have already bought one of those cheap Hardline hour/tach meters that I meant to install, but I noticed that the engine wire harness has connectors that clearly go to the remote control box, and others that I don't know what they are for. I'm assuming, and hoping that they are for instruments? I've found this gauge

    4" Tachometer with Monitor Gauge - Black*| Suzuki Marine

    directly from suzuki, that I'm hoping will just plug right into those harnesses. Can anybody confirm for me?
    Thanks

    The wires that are showing in the picture are as such ( the gauge wires and plugs will be colored the same or match)

    Left side of pic: two pin plug = trim gauge, troll mode, or not used
    Middle wires: gray = gauge power
    red/green (piggy back off of gray) gauge lights
    Black = ground
    Yellow = analog signal for tach
    Right side 4 pin connector = gauge monitor 4 pin connector (temp, oil, check eng, rev)

    Personal preference on the gauge lights, some peps like to run those on the nav lights instead so they are not on all the time with the ignition on.

    You can run your hour meter on the gray or red/green wire but it will clock time any time the ignition is on whether the motor is running or not.
