I'm not much on 4 strokes, but seems idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys can produce a whining noise as the bearings/ bushings begin to go south. It might be a good time to have an experienced Suzuki tech listen for a more accurate description of the possibilities.

I also thought if i commented, someone with more experience on the 4's might chime in.

Good luck with that, let us know what you find out.

Just a stab in the dark, but the only thing in the area that you mention is the IAC valve. I don't know that it's capable of making clicking noises (never heard one make ANY noise) but you might try putting your hand on it with the engine running, and see if you can feel anything that corresponds to the clicks.

Another thing you can try is to take a long-handled screwdriver or rod of some sort and while pressed against your ear, hold the other end against the engine and various components to see if you can find just where the noise is coming from. Or use a stethoscope if you have one.

I'LL have a stab in the dark too. I had a similar noise, Tick tick and faster the enging turned the faster the noise got, and after countless hours of searching, I found a razor blade that had attached itself to the fly wheel magnet

The tach needle rising during the diagnostic period before start indicates engine hours. The 1200 rpm indication translates to 120 hours, the 800 shows 80 hours. That's without the rev light. WITH the rev light, you add 500 hours for EACH rev light flash. Not sure how many flashes you say your getting on the rev light.

1200 rpm with one flash would be 620 hours, 800 rpm with one flash would be 580 hours.
