  • Older Suzuki oil and newer Ecstar oil

Can you mix the newer design/named oil with the older stuff?

I have just over a gallon of the old style container oil and most of what im finding is the newer Ecstar V7000. Both are Semi-synthetic and 10w40. I need to change my oil and did not want to mix them if it would cause any issues.

    Thanks,
    Don

Don't see why not. Mixing things like coolants and brake fluids need caution in foreign autos, but engine oil should not be a problem, either in cars or your outboard.

That is what Im thinking too.
Just curious if they changed the formulation or just the packaging and name?

        Follow up...

I emailed a Suzuki supplier and he stated that they had not told them of any change other than in packaging. He also indicated the cost was the same so I feel certain no change in formulation.
