1991 100HP 4Stroke slipping into neutral

I have a 1991 Suzuki 4 Stroke 100 HP. The last couple of years it has raced and a bit when putting it in forward, and my mechanic hasn't been able to identify the problem. Now when I throttle up it is slipping into neutral as I increase the RPMs. Anyone know what might be the problem? I am on the Cape Cod side of Buzzards Bay in Bourne. Does anyone know a Suzuki repairman close to me?
