Default lower unit oil change

Just changed lower unit oil on DF200. When I checked the oil level it kept draining opil. SHould I let the oil drain out until it is level with the bottom of the oil check hole?

I suppose you check the level via the upper hole, not the drain hole ;-). If you filled it from below until it came out of the check oil, ther should be not much oil coming out.

It has a vent hole at top, an oil check hole a couple of inches belowthat, then the drain hole in bottom. I just opened the oil check hole and let it drain until the level was at the bottom of oil check hole.

might be a good idea to drain a bit out of the bottom too, just in case it has water and is now over full (unless you just filled it that is)
