Default DF140 Hot Gear Box

Ive recently noticed some paint blistering/miss colouring on the upper leg of my 140, its a 2008 model and approaching 300 hours. The blistering is only on the left hand side so far(looking from the back). the blistering basically covers the whole left hand side of the upper leg from the first cav plate up to where the plastic cowling starts

When running at speed the affected area is quite hot to the touch.

I have heard suzuki have had paint issues before but can't find any cases regarding this area of the motor, was also thinking maybe the gear box oil is a bit low and its getting hotter than its designed to??

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

Ken
