newbie question: hose from carb float chamber

[D Ray 9.9]

I have a 2001 DF 9.9 and noticed a small hose (6 inches long or so) going from the carb float chamber towards the front of the motor that is no longer hooked to anything. It looks like it was connected to something based on the end of it but I cant see where it should connect. The hose is part # 13651-93E00 and numbered 27 in the diagram on the suzuki site. Does anyone know where it should connect to?

It looks to be an overflow tube, if it connects to anything it would be to a fitting that goes out of the cowling. I have been unsuccessful in location that hose with any directions.
