Default DF70 Clogged water line??

Hello, My boat was pumping strong as I brought it in for the season. Had to use a shallow estuary, touching bottom more than once. When I flushed the engine in the yard it wouldn't push water out the tell-tale and the high temp alarm tripped. I suspect I sucked up some sand/mud bringing her in. Is there a way to flush the water system? Any other thoughts are appreciated. (2004 DF70 4 stroke with new water pump this year.) Many thanks.

The fresh water flush is the only way. If it over heats with a stream of water, look into replacing the thermostat.

Default Clogged water line.

Thanks for your response. I figured as much, though she has a new thermostat this year. Do you know if I can get much pressure into the line using the side flush port, in lieu of the ear muffs? Ive never used that port.

Thanks
