Default trim motor replace

have a dt 225 2003 how hard is it to change the trim motor thanks

As long as the mounting bolts are not siezed up it's not real hard to get out.

Have you verified that the motor is bad?

If you really want to pull the ptt motor it can be done without pulling the motor off the boat.

Start by tilting the motor all the way up, and lock the motor in the up position. You will have to remove the tilt ram pin, and trim stop bolt in order to get at the port side forward 12mm bolt holding the ptt motor in place. Removal of wiring to the motor is best handled by removing the port and starboard mid-unit covers.

Took me two hours today, only to find out that I was wrong in my assumption that the ptt motor was bad on my 2002 DF140.
