The motor has had the 2 ecm replacements and the collector replaced due to a tech juggling the key prior to the ecm replacement. Most of the codes have been low voltage, one overheat, and 14 iac codes. The iac has been throwing codes ever since the throtle stops got screwed with from the first time it was serviced.

I also have one of the center cylinders with low compression due to an issue with an exaust valve. Could be carbon, could be tight, could be bent. Not sure which but carbon build up is a common issue with that. Robert did'nt seem to concerned with that as the engine passed a leak down test.

One thing he did notice was the bottom main oil seal was seeping down the drive shaft. Not allot, but it was something we may have to address.

Update #2: Robert just called to let me know where they are at. First, compression is good across the board!! De-carboning with ring free did the trick on the open exaust valve.

Next, the iac valve is shot and probably has been for some time. Engine idling perfectly now! Hurray!

No problem is showing up on the stand with the lower rpm stumbling. They will problably water test it next week if they cannot get it to act up on the stand.

Update: Robert at Precision Marine gave me a call this morning to let me know they are not seeing any more issues to address at this time. She fires up and runs on the stand perfectly with no codes or alarm. He is relatively confident the IAC valve was the culprit all the time and would heat up and get worst as the motor brought up to operating temp.

To make sure, he wants me to come down and water test the boat with him to make sure. It's an awesome feeling to know you have found a great repair shop!
