Default Neutral Safety Switch

Was having a problem getting the starboard engine to fire on 2002 DT200. Removed neutral safety switch from engine and wired wires together as temporary fix. Does removing this switch have a negative impact on engine as the starter won't turn over with boat in gear anyway?

Should not be a negative impact, works as a safety.

where it may catch you is during repairs

the control box neutral safety switch protects you as a second safety but during repairs and bypassing the control box be extra carefull
