Lowrance auto pilot

I am considering fitting a Lowrance outboard auto pilot pack. I have a Lowrance HDS Gen 3 which I use for navigation. My boat has a Garmin M1AIGN00 antenna which supplies info for both the Gen3 and the Suzuki gauges. My question is do I still have to fit the Point-1 GPS antenna that comes with the kit and therefore have 2 external antennas or can I use the Garmin M1AIGN00 via the NMEA backbone or if I can use either and only one which would be the best

To answer my own question I had to fit the Point-1 antenna that came with the kit because the Garmin is a GPS only whereas the Point-1 is a GPS and compass which is required for the auto pilot to work.
