  • 2 micron fuel water separator filters?

Assuming appropriate fuel flow rate is there are reason to not put a 2 micron fuel filter in. I’d rather catch as much stuff as possible before it gets to the engine filters. I’ve read on some forums people having issues with fine gunk in their fuel getting past the 10 micron filters and putting in 2 micron filters stopped that.

obviously they would need more frequent changing. That’s not a big issue as they are not that expensive.

    Thanks.

Providing fuel flow is maintained, cant see any issues at all.

Are 2 micron filters available for the in cowling fuel filter? I ran a 10 micron in front of a 3ish micron engine mounted fuel filter on my mighty 13hp Yanmar 2GM diesel without issue. Burned 1/4 gallon per hour, with today's fuel prices I really miss that...

the filter has a max flow of 60gph and my motor uses about 7 at WOT so should be no problem unless it clogs up. If it does I don’t want that getting to the engine anyway.
