  • Suzuki DT85 Clutch Dog

I have a 1985 DT85 that the Clutch Dog is worn. My question is, browsing thru the Boats.net site I found 2 numbers for the Clutch Dog, #57621-95508 = $400 Plus, and 57621-95510 = $60. What's the difference. Hope you can help me...

    There's $360 difference.

    Sorry, you asked. Lol

The $400 may be an assy price that ”may” incl the 3 gears (forward, pinion, reverse)? Does it incl clutch dog? Generally if the clutch dog is worn, one or both gears are also, possibly even the pinion (from jumping in-out of gear). When you disassemble look at the mating edges of the clutch dog, where it engages forward, and reverse. If the ears on the clutch dog are worn (rounded edges), then the mating edges of gear(s) are worn. And also, have to look at mating teeth of those gears for wear.

I can't tell you exactly what's incl in the $400 price, because I can't view the boats.net diagrams since they changed their website? But I believe it may be for the three gears?

But you can look at brownspoint.com and see if they list it differently, compare cost, and call both locations (boats.net & brownspoint marine) to clarify.

    Good luck.

Thats what I was thinking, so I called tech support and was told the more expensive clutch dog was for an earlier model. Thanks for the response...
