DT 85 Tilt Trim Issue

Sometimes motor will not trim up unless I hit trim down first.

Have had this problem for several months. At first just had to hit trim down a very little, and then trim up would work. As time has progressed (and tried to figure out problem) now have to hit trim down several times before trim up works. Cleaned all wires going to up and down relay and seemed to work better for awhile but ends up with same issue.

Is there a way to test to determine problem. Relay, bad wire, etc.

Remove the power wires to the trim motor, manually force motor to run by grounding out one and supplying power to the other. Motor should work, then reverse polarity. Motor should work in the other direction. If motor hesitates or does not work properly then it is motor. If it works flawlessly then it is your relays.
