  • Adjusting and balancing carbs on DT115

Hi, how do I adjust/balance the carbs on my DT115, 1983? Can it be done at home? Thanks for any help.

Yes can be done at home. To Sync simply back the idle adjustment screw all the way out, loosen each individual idle adjustment link allowing all carburetor butterflies to close completely. tighten adjustment screws. then tighten idle adjustment screw till butterflies are about 1/16 open. Start engine, adjust idle to be between 700-1000. from there you can adjust carberetors (one at a time), turn in air/fuel mixture screw 1/4 at a time till it lean pops. From there turn out slowly till lean pop stops, then turn an additional 1/8-1/4 turn. Do this to every carburetor. Readjust idle, then you should be good to go.

Thanks, just a small deviation, this old model has no idle adjustment screws, only mixture (for mid range?) and then probably the top end adjustment is done via jet sizes?

They all have some kind of throttle link adjustment screw, you just need to locate it.
