I have a Suzuki 140 4 stroke and if it sits more then two week when I  run it the moter will only get to 5000 rpm for about 10 min and then it will surge up and down untill it kicks in and then will run at 5600 rpm's and will run great the rest of the day and the next.This moter is only 3 years old.

 I had the same problem with my suzuki 140 motor. To fix this problem all you need to do is to replace the high pressure fuel filter that supplies fuel to the fuel injectors. If you do this then all those problems will disapear. suzuki part # 15400-90J00. This hp fuel filter cost less than 50 bucks.
