  • 1998 DT 150 EFI question

I've got a set of low hour DT150's on my Robalo 268. I've not yet run the boat...and am ready to splash soon. They seem to run very nicely, but idle a bit high. I've let them run for about 15 or so minutes in the driveway...figuring the idle would go down after warm up. Idle is about 1100 or so. The enignes have not seen use in 2 seasons from my understanding, if that makes a difference in anyones thinking.

Question is....is that sufficient warm up time for the engines to go to "normal" idle, if there is such a thing? I'm thinking they should idle at about 800 or so in Neutral.

Should idle down in the water.Mine Idles higher with hose on it (No back pressure on exhaust)Should only take a few minutes to warm up.Feel the stream coming out of the pee hole when that gets warm the thermostat is open and motor is up to temp.I really like my motor it has been good to me other than it just started loading up.Hope this helps
