So I was out on the boat yesterday and had some issues with going from forward to neutral. When putting the throttle in the neutral position it felt as if it never engaged and the prop was still spinning. Then when I continued to reverse, it slammed into gear. It did not sound normal and it was abnormally loud and a heavy thud. When i pulled into the docks i had to kill the motor becuase the boat would not go into neutral. I pulled the boat and put ear muffs on it to see if I could repeat the problem. At this point it shifted into neutral like normal but reverse was extremely hard and sounded really bad. Any ideas of what this could be? It's a 2005 Suzuki 200hp 4stroke. Any information would be appreciated. thanks!
