suzuki 150 test, runs bad & dies

took out our project boat for the first test run, started up great at the dock, ran kinda rough, figured it had not been running for years so it was normal. but the rough running got worse, and worse, and then it will not stay running. I have taken some video's of our test run to show how it is acting

What year? Two stroke or 4.

I think its a 98. two stroke, fuel injected

Check compression to see if even, check for spark on all cylinders, if fuel injected then test fuel pressure. Check condition of fuel.

this engine is basically brand new....sorta. it was a factory defect that was given to our local marine repair program because it was dropped & has a slight bend in the skeg. the school had it for a few years and it was said that they didnt do anything with it. it certainly appears that they didnt do much with it because normally the wiring would have poke holes in it and various marks that come with testing (I took that class, I know test engines look) apart from the missing coil cover plate the engine basically looks brand new. I ran it in our shop for a minute or two and after that I could smell the stale gas that had been sitting in the engine for about a year. other than that.... I'll check the compression tomorrow, and the fuel pressure when I get my hands on a tester.
the fuel is brand new premium strait out of the marina's fuel supply.
we did test run it with 50:1 before we discovered that it had problems. what it tends to do is run allright for a little bit, just enough to get out of the marina. and then it seems to run like crap and die after it warms up. strange?
