Hi I have a 1984 dt 85. The engine seems to be messing me about loads but the gearbox is fine. Can anyone tell me if the gearbox on my dt would fit a model in the early 90s or is there a difference. Even if I swapped the internals over. Would it work?

Do you know why it won't fit. I know the case part numbers are the same but all the internal components are the same. Has anyone tried doing this?Comment

I have looked at both units and they look an exact match. Even the drive shafts are the same lengths. Is there something else that will now work with the to units?Comment

Just a update for everyone. A dt 85 1984 gearbox does fit on a 1991 engine. Every thing lines up ok and works as it should.Comment
