2000 DF70 Lower unit question

Took my boat out and hit something will cruising at full speed and long story short my lower unit is shot... I have not been able to pull out the bearing hub to really see what is wrong. My question is wether there are interchangeable lower units for suzuki like johnson, evinrude.... My reason for asking is because I am having a hard time finding parts or replacement lower units for a reasonable price.

that is a very simple gear box on that model, you need to remove the prop (of course) and then the two bolts that hold the bearin carrier, get a soft face hammer and tap the carrier around a tiny bit, this will allow you to get a drift behind where the bolts goes through and tap it out, there will be a gear and thrust washer come out with it, simple job. Not too sure what you are looking for, but to remove anything else is also easy
