Bought the motor used came with a boat. 1 st time running it for an extended period turning it off and on occasionally it started idling rough and wanted to die at low idle also a large sheen of gas came out of it on the water. Second time running it ran good for an hour I then shut it off for maybe 1 minute to talk to another boater started it back up and a sheen of gas was behind it again and rough idle ????

Ok it's a four stoke so wouldn't that rule out the oil gas mix? But I'll start at the top of your list. It fires right up so I assume the plug is fine and it runs fine until you turn it off then back on again?Comment
