6hp Suzuki Long Shaft

I am trying to id my 6hp long shaft suzuki that I recently purchased - the number on the plate is 00601F-6805.

I would also like to know if it can be converted back to a shortshaft?

Looks like there is a number missing, but 680 is a 2006 serial.
If has the extension block between gearcase and mid section then would have to remove it, replace drive shaft, shift shaft and water tube.
