counter rotation

I need to replace my df 225 looking for a used engine, can i use a single counter rotation engine and if so what issues may i encounter. Also i was told by seller the old engine has a 30 inch foot but i have no designation on my engine plate. Any advice would be much appreciated need to get back out on the water.

Yes it will just torque oposite direction than right hand but probably wont notice. Be sure to use a left hand prop.

counter rotation in a single installation is fine, the only minor drawback may be the available props.
