  • Df250 Head Gasket Repair

Motor is a 2005 DF250. Pulled the dip stick and I have white milky oil. Pulled the plugs, most looked okay but the middle cylinder on starboard side looked kind of bad. Assuming I blew a head gasket.

Can this repair be done without removing the entire powerhead? Is there a step by step feature in the manual? Any suggestions?

I just repaired the head on my df175, Im not real sure if you will need to remove the powerhead, although you're camshafts are on top of the head and remove the chain I think you will have to. On the 175 it is only about 8-12 bolts. I had my motor all torn apart, just got it back together monday and luckly it started right up and no water in the oil. Only now I have a map sensor code. Next problem for me to tackle. (was there before removing the head). I would highly recommend at least getting a repair manual from west marine or other store. But you can also find a bunch of info on the web. Good luck.
