DF-175 telltale weak

I had the motor running in a tank and it was over heating with a strong telltale today i changed the thermostat now the motor no longer is overheating but very little telltale and no water pressure to gauge in dash

I would drop the lower unit and change the impeller while I had it off.

could be some corrosion has been dislodged when you replaced the thermostat and it has clogged the tell tale? Don't exactly understand the 'drop the lower unit" , and replace the water pump while it is off! there would be no reason to drop the gear case, (in this instance) unless you are replacing the impellor
