I have a new 2012 DF20A that runs excellent at lower altitudes, Typical 150' to 1500' above sea level. Yesterday at 5100' it ran more like a 10 HP. Slow out of the hole and low power, Hard to get up to speed. Doesn't EFI compensate for altitude? What would make a EFI engine run poorly at higher altitudes?

I am seriously shopping for this motor . . . DF20A (long shaft, remote, electric start) to replace an old 2-stroke carbureted engine that doesn't do well at altitude either. I was under the impression that the DF20A had a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) Sensor that would allow for automatic operation at altitude just like an automobile.
