  • Suzuki DF50 Temp.Alarm

First 10 minutes at low revs no problem, but Temperature Alarm registered when on the plane. Alarm continued to register whilst idling back to ramp approx. 1 km. Pilot water hole was operating correctly at all times.
Whilst flushing motor at home no alarm registered while idling, with pilot water hole and two other outlets operating correctly. Motor is always flushed after every use in salt water. Motor usage approx. 90 hours in 6 years.

    Hi Lester

How long is it since you chaged the water pump housing and impeller? The rubber impellers get hard after a couple of years esecially if the engine is not used very often as seems to be the case given the low hours you stated.

While old impellers often pump OK at low revs, they are ineffective at speed. That may well be your problem.

    Cheers
