  • Need advice in replacing tilt trim ram/piston assembly

    I have a 2007 DF175. The starboard side tilt trim piston/ram has some very tiny pitting which has caused the head trim cylinder seal to leak fluid. The port side does not have any issues with pitting and seals are fine. I want to replace the piston/ram to prevent future damage of the cylinder seal. What other parts do I need to purchase to complete this repair?

    These are the parts I will purchase for the repair;

    1 Piston/Ram Assembly 48601-94900
    1 Head, Trim Cylinder 48630-96J00
    1 O-Ring (set of 2) 48633-94900
    1 Piston Free 48650-94900

    I've never done this repair before. It looks pretty straight forward but can someone please give me a quick tutorial on the removal process of the existing ram. Also best method for bleeding the system after installation of new parts.

    Thanks in advance.
