  • Is it worth it???

So what had happen was.... My uncle brought this 97' dt65c to a local marine mechanic to have the crank seals replaced and the "mechanic" charged him $500, only disassembled the engine and gave it back to him in a box then shut the doors to his shop. I have now ended up with the motor and was wanting to get y'all's advice on weather it was worth getting this put buck together or just starting over with a different motor all together?

Very rare for that motor to have crank seal problems. Just as likely he kept your good powerhead and gave you a crate of misc. parts. If you want to lay them out and take some photos I can let you know what you have, or more importantly, what you don't.
