  • 1999 DT 140 water flow question

    Hey there,
I have a 1988 Proline 230 with twin, 1999 DT 140 EFI's. When I fired them up this season, I noticed very little water flowing through the prop, and a heavy flow coming from the over flow in the lower unit. The tell tail had a solid, steady stream. I replaced the thermostat, and had the same results. I was using the factory flush connector at the time. The engine was running fine, but I shut it down for fear of over heating. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably ok, run it in water and if don't overheat then it will be fine.

the flush connectors are not good indicators for water flow so muffs are better but the best test is to put it in the water

        Thanks to both,
I will hit the water next weekend, and keep an eye on the engine.
