I have a 1988 200hp suzuki. I'm having an overheat problem with only one side of my engine. I put a new water pump in. I also removed both thermostats. one side runs cold the other gets hot. I removed the thermostat cover of the side that is overheating and it runs cool, put the cover back on and it runs hot again. I removed the cylinder head to look inside and it looks pretty clean. Thats where im at now. Thanks!

Interested in this too. I have basically the same motor . I assume it's a DT200? I believe mine is an 86. My left side is indicating hot (the left red "water" light on the multi-guage) is one.

Is there any trick or secret to removing those without cracking the plastic housing? I tried to remove mine, and quickly cracked the plastic housing where one of the two screws goes in.

if you end up replacing the thermostat, let me know where you order it from .. I might be in the market for a new one too.
