  • DF70 seizing after heating up

    1999 DF 70.
    - Initially fuel problems, - would not start - Cleaned, replaced or tested entire fuel system to injectors. Fuel pressure test ok.
    - Checked oil pressure and compression - 1 cylinder 185, the rest 210-220
    - No changes in original prop
    - Changed water pump - great flow.
    - Swapped ECU with other engine - no difference
    - New starter, solenoid.
Symptoms: Engine is port side of 2 on Glacier Bay. Both start and run smoothly. After a few minutes warm up, going up to WOT, this engine gets to and stays at 5200 and then slowly drops to about 4000 max. The other runs smoothly to 5500+
20 minutes running checking temps (145 max), slow down to enter slip.
Engine stalls. and then seizes - will not crank.
Fifteen minutes in slip, engine will again rotate manually.

Ideas on what to check next?

    Thanks!

Are you sure the motor is seizing? pretty serious if it is, or... are you getting confused that the starter is not working properly and you think it is seized? big difference.
