25hp suzuki

[Erie walleye fisherman]

I have a 25hp suzuki outboard possibly 1985....engine starts and runs great, until all of the sudden motor stalls......(run time varies) and will not restart for 24 hours or so.....during which time engine seems not to have spark????
Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Carl

you will need to unplug the stop wire

sounds like the stop diode is going bad
