Questions on steering and gear cable

I'm new to this, I have just recently up graded my motors from a Mercury 40hp to a Suzuki DF25ARS. My questions are can I used the existing steering cable and gear cables or will I need to change these out also?

I like try doing things my self to try and save money, Can any of you offer any advise.
